I love food! I love to read cookbooks, watch cooking shows, make up my own recipes and adapt others recipes to make them my own. A Foodie yes, why, yes I am! To keep it all in line I keep a food journal. Daily I chronicle my food intake and my exercise outtakes.
As much as I love food, I love to work out. Somedays, it may be a tennis competition other days it might just be walking the dogs. I try and adjust my intake to my energy expenditures. And, yes I do slip up and yes I do write it down.
A few rules I live by, my husband calls them Robinisms…whatever, they work for me.
- I try and think of food as fuel for my body to do all of the things I want to do. The quality of the food I eat is the quality of work I can expect out.
- If I can get it better somewhere I else I try not to eat it.
- Being hungry is okay.
- Most days don’t eat past 7:30. That hungry feeling you may feel around 10 or 11 is your body burning fat don’t give in and eat, enjoy it.

Starting your own food journal is easy! Just take a blank notebook, date the page, write your current weight and start listing what you put in your mouth and what you do to burn it off. Easy and so beneficial. If you would like to take a look a few pages of mine let me know by emailing me at
